We meet on the third Wednesday of the month in a different private garden to enjoy beautiful green spaces together. Our gatherings are relaxed, friendly, and full of chat about garden design, plants, and the joys (and challenges!) of gardening. Of course, no meeting is complete without a cup of tea and a slice of cake. Membership is just $15 a year (which also covers insurance). The Garden Clubs of Australia Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation founded in 1950 by Mrs. Margaret Davis MBE. Today, it supports more than 780 affiliated clubs and over 52,000 members nationwide, providing services, resources, and opportunities to connect.
The Canowindra Garden Club Inc, established in 1992, has grown steadily and is proud to be part of this vibrant network. With over 100 active members, our club brings together people who share a passion for gardening, friendship, and community. Members enjoy visits to private gardens, social events, and community projects that celebrate both the beauty of gardens and the spirit of togetherness.

Reflecting on 2025, the Canowindra Garden Club enjoyed a busy year of fundraisers, workshops, garden visits and community support. From Open Days and street stalls to hospital gardens and local projects, none of it was possible without our generous members. Thank you all—here’s to 2026!

A heartfelt thank you to the generous owners of this stunning cool-climate garden located just outside Orange, for welcoming our club to wander and enjoy its beauty.
Our Annual Fundraising Spring Fling Plant Stall was a great success, with a wide variety of plants generously donated by our members. Proceeds from the stall support the club’s ongoing member and community initiatives'.
The Canowindra International Balloon Challenge 2025 featured an exciting street parade float, showcasing the vibrant spirit of the festival. It was a colorful highlight of the event, celebrating balloons and community togetherness.
The 2025 Open Garden Day at the historic Noojee Lea Homestead was a beautiful success! All gate fees from the event were generously donated to the Canowindra Hospital Auxiliary, supporting a great cause while showcasing this stunning garden.
As part of the 2024 International Balloon Festival, our first garden ramble welcomed up to 150 visitors at each of the 10 open gardens — a resounding success!
Members from the club attended the 2024 Garden Clubs of Australia Friendship Day at Clifton House & Gardens, Young — a wonderful gathering of South West NSW clubs to celebrate National Gardening Week, share knowledge, and enjoy time together.
As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the community, the Canowindra Garden Club has installed several dog poo stations around Canowindra. This initiative aims to keep our town clean and dog-friendly for everyone to enjoy.
A new picnic table has been installed along the Belubula Riverwalk, thanks to the Canowindra Garden Club. This addition provides a great spot for visitors to relax and enjoy the scenic views along the river.
Working in collaboration with the Canowindra Historical Society and Cabonne Council, the new Morris Park information board shares the park’s history with photos and stories.
